March started strong with Pokopia, impressed with Monster Hunter Stories and Gale of Darkness in the middle, and will conclude with some strong titles releasing next week.
Although I don’t foresee any of them reaching the top of the charts much like Pokopia, there’s something for everyone in the next batch of Switch games. From fighting games to platformers, old classics are returning, and there’s even a Switch 2 Edition of one of the most popular free-to-play games.
With this said, here are the notable Nintendo Switch releases for the week of March 23rd.
Highlight of the Week
Mega Man Star Force Collection—March 27—€39.99/$39.99
Starting off with the highlight of the week, Mega Man Star Force Collection releases on March 27th.
I already wrote a post explaining why you should have this on your radar, so I will not elaborate much here. Just know that this collection contains all 7 Mega Man Star Force games, which are a must-play if you’re a Battle Network fan.

This is also an important title since it shows Nintendo DS games being ported to the Nintendo Switch successfully, and it opens the door to many others, even those that relied on the second screen.
With this in mind, I’ll do my best to support these collections as much as possible, and I’m ready to erase some viruses when Mega Man Star Force Collection hits the Switch.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage — March 26 — €19.99/$19.99
I’m happy to see Virtua Fighter 5 finally coming to the Nintendo Switch 2! I used to play Virtua Fighter 4 on the PS2, and my story with this franchise goes all the way back to the Sega Saturn, where I had the pleasure of playing its first entry and even Virtua Fighter Kids, one of my favorite games of all time.
So, I’ll most likely have to pick this one up, even if I don’t have intentions of playing online. At this point in life, I don’t have the time or the fingers to beat the kids these days. Meaning I’ll be exploring the World Stage content more than anything, where you battle AI and unlock customizable items for your characters.
Some of these AI opponents were made to mimic real-life players, though…
The Midnight Walk—€29.99/$29.99
The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure that has one of the best presentations I’ve seen recently. Its visuals are a standout because all assets the game uses were first sculpted in clay and then 3D scanned to create the game models.
The result is something that seems to have come out of the mind of Tim Burton, and I love it.
I hope it creeps into your Nintendo Switch one day!
Nintendo Switch 2 Editions
As time passes, more Switch 2 Editions keep releasing, bringing performance and graphical improvements to many games that desperately need it and others that don’t need it as much.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition—March 27—€19.99/$19.99 (Upgrade Pack)
Do we really need this Switch 2 Edition? This is something that I’m still struggling to answer.
On one hand, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best platformers on Switch, however, its major flaw is that the “wonder” diminishes once you’ve played the game a few times since it loses its surprise factor.

I do think that the content is worth the price they are asking for the upgrade pack, though. There’s a bunch of new features added to the main game, like Rosalina as a playable character, the Koopalings, and the BelBella Park, where you’ll be able to play a collection of mini-games with friends online or locally and take on new challenges.
But I would never in my life pay 80 euros for the physical edition. I love Nintendo games, but that’s a line I will not cross any time soon. That’s why I’m still waiting for a good price on Pokopia.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Switch 2 Edition—March 25—Free Upgrade

This is the type of update that everyone likes because it’s free! On March 25, you’ll be able to upgrade Disney Dreamlight Valley at no additional cost and benefit from better visuals and performance across the board.
I honestly don’t know a thing about this game other than it’s a popular cozy title. So, I imagine many people will be happy with this release — enjoy!
Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game Switch 2 Edition—Free Upgrade
And while we’re on the topic of cozy games, Tales of the Shire will get a Switch 2 Edition as well for free. It’s a game with mixed reviews, and I remember the Nintendo Switch release being a complete mess, filled with bugs and performance issues across the board, making it a horrible purchase for anyone.
The Switch 2 Edition will fix most of these problems, but there are still a ton of people that don’t have the luxury to spend €500 to get a working game.
Warframe Switch 2 Edition — March 27 — Free

Warframe is undeniably one of the best free-to-play games of all time, and the port on the original Nintendo Switch is nothing short of a miracle.
But it was just a matter of time until we saw a dedicated Switch 2 Edition after games like Fortnite and Apex did the same. Warframe on Switch 2 will target 1080p and 60fps, with even better visuals, faster loading times, and Joy-Con 2 mouse support.
I’ve played hundreds of hours of Warframe in the past, and I think I’ll need to play just a few more on Switch 2.
