Hey there again! We’re heading into a new week, and it’s time to see which game releases lie ahead for the Nintendo Switch 2.
While this week is on the quieter side, yet again, I managed to find a few games that will interest different types of players. From a quirky free-to-play RPG, a fresh roguelike adventure, a musical turn-based RPG from Annapurna, and the Pokémon game that competitive fans have been waiting years for.
Let’s get to it!
The New Denpa Men: Switch 2 Edition
Free-to-Play | April 6th, 2026
“THE NEW DENPA MEN is a free-to-play, consumer-operated RPG in which you catch the mysterious creatures Denpa Men that fly around you, make them your companions, and go on an adventure.”
This does sound a bit like Pokémon, but if you look up how a Denpa Men actually looks, you will be surprised. They remind me more of Miis than creatures you’d expect to find in a monster-taming game.
I played the game when it was released about 2 years ago, and while I did have some fun, the microtransactions put me off.But I will give it a try again this time around, just to see how it performs and to see if it got less greedy.
Eko and the Bewitched Lands
$12.99 | April 6th, 2026
“Eko and the Bewitched Lands blends fast-paced action with deep roguelike strategy, ensuring no two rescue missions are ever the same.”
What caught my eye with this one was how much it reminded me of The Legend of Zelda games, especially since I played through Link’s Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom recently.
I don’t know much about the developer, though, so there’s no track record to indicate whether this will be a polished experience or not. Even so, mixing the top-down Zelda formula with roguelike gameplay and even bullet-hell elements from games like Nier: Automata and Fury impressed me, and I hope it has a successful launch.
People of Note
$23.99 | April 7th, 2026
Then we have an RPG published by Annapurna called People of Note, and its description reads:
“In this bold turn-based RPG, where musical numbers meet thrilling combat, join pop singer Cadence on her quest for stardom. After being shut out of the Noteworthy Song Contest, Cadence realizes that her solo act might not be enough for the judges.”
From here you’ll play as Cadence, and you’ll get to explore a really well-crafted world while battling against all sorts of different types of musicians.
And what really got my attention was the battle system, since I love when RPGs implement QTEs in their turn-based combat, like Sea of Stars or even Legrand Legacy — a hidden gem you should definitely try out one day.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out on this one, but for this week there’s only one game for me, if I’m honest.
Pokémon Champions
April 8th, 2026
“In Pokémon Champions, you’ll engage in Pokémon battles like those in previous Pokémon titles. These battles will utilize familiar mechanics such as Pokémon types, abilities, and moves, enabling the rich and varied battle strategies that players know and love.”
I think Pokémon Champions doesn’t even need a descriptionsince everyone knows about it by now. But it’s essentially the go-to battle game for Pokémon fans going forward, especially for VGC players.
This is truly exciting since I believe that the competitive gameplay should be separated from the mainline Pokémon games, because the amount of hours you spend training your team in-game is not what makes you a good competitive player.
And while I think Pokémon Champions is a good step in the right direction, there’s still a lot we don’t know about how we earn VP in-game — the currency used to train your Pokémon.
If this currency is scarce, then training your Pokémon in other games and using them in Champions is still the way to go, and if this is the case, then hacked Pokémon will still be a major issue.
