The Nintendo Switch reign began in 2017, and I have had the pleasure of owning one since that very year. Since then, I have purchased more accessories than I could think of.
Most of them just gather dust on my shelf, but those are not today’s focus. I want to highlight the accessories I still use in my day-to-day and that I still find useful.
But there is one accessory that I had to include on this list, even though I don’t use it much. Let’s start with that one:
PokéBall Plus
The PokéBall Plus was part of Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu, but I only got it later. And I only got it because I wanted to use it on Pokémon Go and not the game it was designed for in the first place.
With it, I could spin the PokéStop located in my home without needing to check the phone every 5 minutes. Also, it was useful to get a couple of MelMetals, which I promptly transferred to Let’s Go Eevee.
Nowadays, I don’t use it as much, but I just love its design, and it sits beautifully in my desk setup.
Hori Split Pad Pro
Thanks to the Hori Split Pad Pro, I can continue to play comfortably on my Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.
The Joycons are terrible when it comes to ergonomics, and my hands always hurt after playing with them for a couple of minutes. So, when these were announced for Daemon X Machina, it was a no-brainer to get.
I’ve been using them since 2018, and I barely detach them from my Nintendo Switch.
PokéBall Dock
I was always against using 3rd party docks since, initially, there were many reports of damaged Nintendo Switches because of them. But earlier this year, I saw this cute-looking PokéBall Dock that I just had to get.
It’s very cheap, and so far, I’ve had no issues with it. I bought it mostly because it’s nice to have my Switch ready to go when I’m doing other things on PC, much like I do with my Steam Deck.
The only issue I have with this is that it doesn’t have a USB port to connect my arcade controllers.
PokéBall Cartridge Storage
By now, you should be wondering why this post isn’t called “The Best PokéBall Accessories for the Switch.” But I can explain.
For some years now, I’ve used this cartridge case storage (affiliate link), and it’s great. But this summer, during a gaming convention in my hometown, there was a 3D-printed shop selling these 3D PokéBall Cartridge Storage units, and I just had to get one.
It looks great on my desk, too, and I have my favorite 16 Nintendo Switch games in it.
Breath of Wild Console Case
There are a ton of better options out there if you want to carry your Switch and accessories around, but this is the one I’ve used since the day I purchased my Switch.
You can see the signs of use since I carried it in my backpack for years. The reason I never got a new one is that it fits perfectly.
And honestly, there isn’t much to say about it apart from it being the best accessory I’ve purchased since it always fulfilled its purpose since 2017.
Useful Nintendo Switch Accessories?
There are many Nintendo Switch accessories on the market, and from the ones I purchased, these stand out for their usefulness and reliability.
They allow me to keep enjoying one of my favorite consoles while also enabling me to carry it around, keep its games close and secure, provide a comfortable grip, and even add a touch of flair to my setup.
In conclusion, if you are still looking for Nintendo Switch accessories, try these out!
